Spirit Squad Director

Mollie Vehling is a proud UCLA graduate with a bachelor’s degree in dance. While at UCLA, Vehling served on the UCLA Dance Team for two years. She is currently in her 19th season as the UCLA Spirit director. With more than 30 years of experience and training in dance, choreography, producing and directing, Vehling is thrilled to be working with the UCLA program.

Vehling continues to serve as a judge for competitions and auditions at all levels throughout the United States. She has produced instructional cheer and dance DVDs with Championship Productions, currently available online.

Vehling has traveled with the UCLA team to Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai, as well as universities throughout the United States. She has choreographed and coordinated the production for each of the international trips. Vehling has also choreographed for multiple television and movie projects.

She enjoys working closely with the Spirit directors throughout the PAC-12. Vehling is extremely proud of how the UCLA Spirit program has developed under her leadership including community outreach incentives such as the Junior Spirit Squad, currently in its seventh season!

The Spirit Squad resides in the UCLA Alumni Association, where Vehling also serves as the Bruin traditions director overseeing the Student Alumni Association, which plans and executes large-scale campus traditions, such as Dinners for 12 Strangers, Spring Sing, and the Beat ’SC Bonfire and Rally.

Vehling and her husband, Derek, are the proud parents of Lillie, Emilie, Brodie and Maggie Mae — all future Bruins!

Kyle Bruich

Cheer Squad Coach

Kyle Bruich is excited to be at UCLA where he earned his bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in English. He served as a member of the Cheer Squad and was a two-time captain. While on the team, Bruich was fortunate enough to perform at the Rose Bowl, Rose Parade, Sun Bowl, NCAA tournaments and was featured in both “Muscle and Fitness” and “Elle” magazines.

With a doctorate of education, Bruich has become an expert in teaching and learning, and applies these practices to cheerleading. A former head instructor with the United Spirit Association, he earned the title of MVP and served on the company’s program development team. Bruich has traveled around the country choreographing, coaching, producing and designing music mixes for various school and all-star teams, ranging from pee-wee to professional – including huge industrial shows for Cisco Computer Systems, the Ladies Professional Golf Association, Volkswagen and more. Several of his teams have won national titles and high-point designations.

As a commercially trained dancer, Bruich has toured around the world with the North American Tour of Miss Saigon, and cheerleading shows in China and Guatemala. He has also been cast in commercials for ESPN College Game Day, Adidas and Disney.

Bruich currently serves as an principal of Roosevelt Middle School in Glendale, CA. He is very proud to be a part of the UCLA Spirit Squad team and looks forward to an exciting year for the Bruins!

Chandler Boyd

Chandler Boyd ’17

Assistant Coach

Chandler Boyd danced competitively throughout high school and as a member of NSU Modern, a competitive hip-hop team at UCLA, before joining the UCLA Dance Team in 2014. As a member of the team, she performed at sporting events throughout the year, as well as community events throughout the Los Angeles area. Boyd held leadership positions while on the squad, becoming executive liaison in her senior season. In this position, she organized team events and fundraisers, coordinated international dance exchanges, and assisted in the 2017 presentation to the PAC 12 Spirit Directors. Boyd graduated from UCLA with a degree in sociology and is a certified yoga teacher, as well as a fitness instructor at Rise Nation. Boyd will be dancing for the Los Angeles Laker Girls for the 2017-2018 season. She is continuing to pursue her own career in dance and feels that, as an alumna of UCLA, this unique opportunity will allow her to blend her passions of dance, sports and UCLA.

Tiphanie McNiff

Dance Team Coach

Tiphanie McNiff comes from a competitive and professional dance background and has been dancing for more than 25 years. She spent 10 years competing in ballet, jazz and lyrical. Outside of competitive dance she has performed at professional sporting events including the games of the Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns. McNiff danced professionally with the Fresno City Ballet company as a demi-soloist and soloist. She was an Oakland Raiders Cheerleader for four seasons where she was co-captain, captain and 2009 dancer of the year. During her time with the Raiders, she performed in Iraq on a military tour as well as Austria at the 2011 Euro-Bowl. McNiff also danced for the Phoenix Suns, where she choreographed multiple half-time routines. Her passion is coaching. She has coached the Fresno State Dance Team, UC Berkeley Dance Team and Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders. In addition, she has choreographed for the Phoenix Suns Dancers, LA KISS Dancers, San Jose SaberKittens and numerous college dance teams. She hopes to bring passion and dedication to the program.

Irazmi Perez

Cheer Squad Assistant Coach

Travis is a graduate of Arizona State University and a former cheerleader with the nationally-ranked Sun Devil Cheer Squad. In 2003, Travis moved to southern California and took over as State Director for the Universal Cheerleaders Association while coaching on the high school level. In 2005, Travis moved into collegiate coaching as head coach at Loyola Marymount University, where he worked for six seasons. Travis returned to high school coaching in 2013 as the head coach for Mira Costa High School and works for Varsity Brands in apparel and customer development. He is thrilled to be part of the UCLA Bruin Spirit Program.

KC Reischerl

KC Reischerl danced professionally on Broadway (Miss Saigon, Beauty and the Beast, Jumpers) for more than ten years before moving to Los Angeles, California in 2008. Currently, he is the dance program supervisor for the UCLA Recreation department as well as the gymnastics instructor for Instructional Programs. Reischerl holds a B.F.A. from Syracuse University and certifications from NSCA, ACE, USA Gymnastics, CrossFit (Level One, Olympic Lifting, Gymnastics) and TRX. He also freelances as a choreographer for television, film and theatre; he has worked with Meg Ryan, Sally Field, Stephen Schwartz and Rob Lowe. Reischerl is very excited to work with the UCLA Spirit Squad for his third season!

Suzie Moldavon

Hair, Make-up and Wax Consultant

Suzie Moldavon is in her 10th season with the UCLA Spirit Squad. As a celebrity makeup artist and owner of a mobile eyebrow business, Flybrow, Moldavon knows what a difference it makes in the rest of your life when you feel amazing on the outside – it unlocks that inner beauty and lets the world know you’re FLY!

Moldavon was recently selected for the 2016 Best Businesses of Los Angeles Award in the Makeup Artists category by the Best Businesses of Los Angeles Award Program. This is the second time since 2014 that Moldavon has been selected for the award, in addition to being chosen as the ‘Best of’ in Los Angeles for six years in a row by Her work has been featured in People magazine, South Bay Magazine, Your Wedding Day Magazine and many more. Moldavon worked as a host makeup artist on FABlife for the 2015-16 season, and appeared on the show as an eyebrow expert in 2016. She has done make-up and styling for numerous entertainment appearances including “The Tonight Show,” “Real Time with Bill Maher,” “The View” and numerous fitness commercials for Bowflex, Nautilus and Reebok.

Moldavon earned her esthetician license in 1992 while getting her B.A. in Psychology and Social behavior from UC Irvine. While her passion is bringing out inner beauty, her favorite job is being a mom to her 12-year-old son, Hudson.
